I am experiencing a possible issue with lane departure warning which illuminates a yellow warning light in the gauge cluster

When I brought the vehicle home, I went into the car settings and changed lane departure from "All Functions" to "Lane Departure Function Only" to reduce one more way the car could beep at me. When I made this change it did not trigger the yellow "Off" warning light. Then one day the light appeared and now the only way to get the yellow "Off" warning light to disappear is to change the setting back to "All Functions".
My understanding is the menu setting "Lane Departure Function Only" should NOT turn off lane departure - which is what the yellow light is indicating.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Can anyone test to see if they get the same result?
