Just purchased a 2012 2.5i Premium 6MT.

This is my first Subaru in a long time and will be used for three day a week commutes and beater duty. 181K miles, everything is solid except for a bit of knocking when going over bumps (suspect sway bar links), fogged up headlights (cheap eBay replacements on the way) and a metallic heat shield noise from time to time. Lots of service history, 3.7K oil change intervals, recent wheel bearings, etc. Last timing belt/wp service was at 104K, so I ordered an Asian kit along with a new drive belt and tensioner, air filters, plugs, and t-stat - all OE. Also have some Valvoline gear oil for the rear diff and Subaru Extra S for front diff/manual trans service.

Best part is this is real clean, inside is immaculate, undercarriage shows minimal surface rust for being a New England car and the engine bay is clean. No leaks, AC is perfect and looks like this has the multi layer metal gaskets for the head gasket which I appreciate. And all this for $3K! First thing I did was have an oil change and installed new Cooper Endeavor Plus tires with an alignment. So right now I am sitting $4916 with aforementioned parts, tires, and registration/tax.

Looking forward to the next few years as a commuter, by then I can hand it off to one of my kids who will be ready for a car.

So I have done the following:

T Belt / WP and bearings
T Stat
Drive Belt and tensioner
Spark Plugs
Manual trans fluid
PS fluid
PCV valve and hoses
Removed and cleaned TB & MAF
Replaced cloudy headlamps
Replace the backup camera as it was all washed out
Threw some worm gear hose clamps around the cat to address some rattles

Can't get the fill plug off the rear diff, so I'm letting Subaru address that next week
Lower control arms are on order

Other than that she's a good runner so far, only time will tell. I am nervous about head gaskets, but I'm hoping as long as I stay on top of maintenance, hopefully it won't be an issue with the metal gaskets.
