We have no heat in a 2009 Subaru Outback. It doesn't seem to be a coolant, thermostat or heater core issue so I am assuming it is the blend door. Air always blows cold but I can switch between which vents are blowing.

Can anyone tell me which part I need to replace? There appears to be two separate pieces that are called similar names. Do I need the HVAC Blend Door Actuator or the HVAC Air Inlet Heater Actuator?

Did you check the heater hoses going into the heater core in the engine bay to see if they get hot with the engine? This would be an indicator whether coolant is flowing through the core.

If one hose is hot and the other cool, the core is clogged up.

Usually when a blend door motor goes bad it is stuck on the Hot position. Never seen one get stuck on Cold. So checking the controls would be next after checking the core.
