Has anyone noticed a new popup that appears every time the car is started, that warns of the phone battery being low? This happens regardless of the actual charge value on the phone. It's been happening for a week now. 2024 OBW. TIA!

Actually, this has been a tactic that has been far more successful for me than not. I have noticed whenever the iPhone13 gets temperamental, a reboot works. I recently found this on vacation in Canada where the phone signal was weak at the lake-side cabin and would keep switching modes from LTE, to 3G, to 4G, and to 5G every 3-5 minutes. A reboot would help and it would stabilize for a few hours. That area did have dead zones, and I believe they confused the phone.

I have had the center-screen icon in the upper right corner say the phone had "no bars" when connected with Bluetooth, but everything was working. Either a car reboot (shut car, lock it, and then open it and restart it) or a phone reboot would cure it. Generally it appeared to be an iPhone issue, not the Outback, as it was iPhone was rebooted first and fixed it.

Well, I tested the new iOS 26 OS on my iPhone 15 Pro Max in the car today, still rock solid. I’d boot your phone if you haven’t already done so. I thought with the new OS I’d see some funk, but nope. Worked like a champ. Let us know if ya get it sorted out.

I don't have that issue, but CP cuts out when on a call (not the phone call itself), then comes back a few seconds later. And it's CP, because the CP logo goes away, and radio comes back on, before CP comes back, like nothing happened. Then rinse and repeat every minute or so. Quite annoying. It also happens on the Porsche, so maybe it's the phone? I'll find out soon enough. Zero issues with Spotify or nav on either car, which is great news, as I hardly ever talk on the phone while driving.

Looks like this may be an Android Auto issue -- there is a post from someone else on Reddit saying this started in the past week for them on a Sony head unit along with a Samsung phone. I have not seen this pop up in my car with iPhone

Yes I have been getting it every time I start the car. Tried disconnecting the phone, etc. Still happening. I had my car in for an oil change recently so I thought it was that until I started searching and have seen others have it. Samsung 23 phone.

Is it only Samsung phones affected? I have a Pixel 9a and I don't have that issue.

Why not disable the PowerSave feature on your phone?

I use an iPhone and do not have this problem nor does the car scream at me when I get a text message because I have the volume on my phone, not the car, set low.
