I caved in this past week and took the car for its 60k mile service, Aside from the multi-point inspection, the fluids in both differentials and the brakes were changed. An engine "tune-up" including spark plug change was also done in addition to a "fuel induction service" whatever that is. The bill was $1000.02. I asked them to round it down to $1000.00. They just laughed. No service was done on the CVT.
The steering should be easy and smooth, not at all like a truck. I would check the fluid first and refresh just to make sure it is not causing your issues. You can replace steering fluid yourself, suck as much as you can from the system and then refill. Next would be the steering pump, it too can be replaced fairly easily but it costs about $500 new. Last would be the steering rack, but that is a rather involved job. However, at only 60k miles I would be surprised if your pump or rack were bad.

Replacing all fluids (including the CVT fluid) and also the accessory belt is cheap insurance. If your car breaks down and you have to have it towed, the cost will be much higher.
