And I liked it so much!

The mounting base is what broke (see red arrow in photo below). Really odd, since it's not something that gets abused in the car. Reading the reviews on ProClip's website, it's apparently quite common. Warranty is one year. I've had mine for about 18 months. It wasn't cheap, either! Color me very disappointed. I don't mind spending some bucks on stuff, if it's QUALITY.

I thought about just buying another ProClip base. But now I'm thinking maybe I can find something better.

I don't want an A/C vent mount. I also don't want a dash (top) mount. I prefer something down on the center console. I'm also not interested in cobbling together a home-made contraption.

I bought a Course Motor Sports Direct Fit Phone Mount and attached a Proclip holder to that. The Course is basically a magnet- they supply a metal plate to attach to the back of your phone- but I liked the ProClip holder better so attached the plate to that and secured the ProClip and Course assemblies together with a zip tie. Be aware that you need to remove the plastic trim around the head unit assembly to attach the Course (I think there's a video on their website if I recall). It's easy to do if you take your time and have a trim tool. The assembly does impede the passenger's access to the heated seat button (on my 2017) but the driver can still reach it fine. It works ok - vibrates more than I like but still ok.

Mine broke in about the same location (a little lower) you can super glue that back together. And if you want a little more strength, you can make ribs across the break (hidden on the back side) with superglue and baking soda (make a line of superglue across the break and then pour baking soda on the glue). The ribs will harden like rock.

I too had that ProClip mount and it broke. I’m now using a mount which I’ve stuck to the top right corner of the a head unit screen. It is an adhesive base with a magnetic mount. Rotates 360 degrees and it angles. Works perfectly. Does not interfere with the eyesight system or the vent. Holds my iPhone strongly.

Got it from Amazon.
