While swapping to the winter tires this season I noticed that the rust damage to the rear rocker panel area is getting pretty bad on my '06 OB. Especially the drivers side where the corner is completely gone except for the plastic and the pinch weld is indented pretty badly. I'm wondering if anyone has had success repairing this area. I have some fabrication/welding experience but am by no means an expert. I asked around to a few local body shops and almost none of them would even take a look at it once I said the words "rust repair" which I found odd. I'm located in the general Boston area if anyone knows a shop that might be willing to take a look. My rough plan for repairing this area would be to remove the plastic rocker panel cover and anything else that was getting in the way, cut out a large section and weld in plates to rebuild the area.
