For what seems to be the millionth time, I am writing to ask WHEN IS THE PROBLEM USING MEMORY STICKS IN THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM GOING TO BE FIXED? That problem started with a firmware upgrade about 2-1/2 years ago in my then 2021 Outback and has continued with my 2024 Outback. After shutting off the car, the unit forgets where it was and goes to the beginning of the memory stick. PLEASE FIX IT! It is very frustrating to continue to have this happen and no-one at Subaru appears to be listening! I do not listen to satellite radio, I have my own music!

Most stream music from the phone.
Not enough people care, this is rarely used. So it is very unlikely Subaru will pour resources into this.
That is TOTAL BS! I have paid enough money for their vehicles and have driven their products for years! If they will not support their customers, it is time to look elsewhere! AND, the problem started with a firmware upgrade, which should be easily fixable! They should not be "Pouring Resources" to quote you!

You think this is Google or Apple ? I know for a fact that VW, which not a small company at some point had just 1 senior and 2 junior software engineers working on the infotainment system ( in India, the very cheap kind )
Now this is changed, but this kind of bugs take a lot of testing and many hours of investigating . I They have other big issues that are affecting all customers, so they focus on that. If you think that at other companies is different, you might have a shock when you will discover that an in 80 k vehicle you have trouble with the volume button for example....

So welcome to the the new age, where customers made the number and the size of the screens the in top 3 criteria in selecting a car.
Again I say BS!!!! The operating system on this infotainment system looks like the software has been written by a high school student! It DOESN'T conform to any known conventions (Such as keeping song order in a digital folder!)! Other vehicle manufacturers DO! They have logical trees which conform to accepted standards.. I have been an engineer in the media for over 50 years and I am astounded at the sloppiness of the infotainment systems in ALL of the Subaru products I have owned! I also know something about code as I used to write and compile Apple code years ago and I know sloppy when I see it!

I have contacted SOA again and again! THEY ARE USELESS! Why do you think I am posting things here? They have been unresponsive for YEARS! Apparently you do not know much about music! Or care for that matter... FYI.. The sound of the infoitainment system is one of the main reasons I have stuck with Subaru! Since SOA is unresponsive, my next vehicle will be with a company who listens to their customers!!!!!

I think you are one of those eletists who has nothing more to do than sit around and brag about your vehicles! I have been remastering and cleaning up vinyl records for years, so I think I would know something about that and also about quality. I suppose you are satisfied with MP3 quality, because it is "Good Enough"! I am NOT! And Yes, I was playing 8 tracks when you were in diapers! If these forums are nothing more than Bragging Boards for you, I have no use for them! If you have nothing to say other than something negative, I have no use for you either!
