Hello, I have a 2009 which I only know it's a 2.5 manual. Needs an engine.
Looking for advice where to find one.
I was looking at some JDM engines which seem great, low miles plus the importers can ship them to me, as I'm not near any population center where I can easily look for a replacement in a junkyard or whatever.
Question is, anything I should know about or look for in particular, concerning compatibility?
Photos of "ebay says it fits" 2009 2.5 outback engines look the same as mine as far as I can tell.
I am sure I can swap the intake and things like that as needed, but heads are probably the big question, I would of course rather not have to mess with them.
Also I see AVLS and AVCS, looking on ebay, and I don't know the difference
I suspect some of the listings have it wrong.
Also I think most (all?) are from an automatic, any problems putting one from an auto into my manual?
