Hi community members,

Searched and came back with no lucks. Recently the auto start-stop function has stopped working without any notices. I understand there is a button near gearbox to turn off auto start-stop each time. In this instance, I didnt manually switch it off and not intended to switch it off, the auto start stop function just stopped working altogether. So now my forester does not auto stop when the car comes to a stop.

Recently I fully charged my car battery by plugging in an AC battery conditioner and tried it. Didnt revive the auto start-stop. There are no fault lights on the dash at all.

Did you have similar experience or seen it elsewhere that you can share? TIA

If you look up the auto start stop feature in your owners manual you will find there are multiple circumstances why the system will not work (battery charge, ambient temperature, electrical load etc).

If you are still using the original main vehicle battery I would suspect this is the cause of it no longer working. I note you have charged the battery using a battery charger but this does not necessarily mean the battery is in a good enough condition to allow auto start stop to work.

If your battery has been replaced, check your brake light globes as I believe if one of these is not working the auto start stop may not work.
