Consider yourself lucky. If you can figure out how to replicate the result, I’m sure there are a lot of people who’d like to implement it on theirs as well.

 

You have a point. Indeed I saw a number of posts where people want to disable it permanently (by hardwiring under the button or something). Isnt it more fuel efficient for having auto start-stop?

 

If you look up the auto start stop feature in your owners manual you will find there are multiple circumstances why the system will not work (battery charge, ambient temperature, electrical load etc).

If you are still using the original main vehicle battery I would suspect this is the cause of it no longer working. I note you have charged the battery using a battery charger but this does not necessarily mean the battery is in a good enough condition to allow auto start stop to work.

If your battery has been replaced, check your brake light globes as I believe if one of these is not working the auto start stop may not work.
