Can the rearview mirror compass be installed as a dealer option on a 2023 Outback Premium (Option 11) without the compass? Cost?

It's been possible in previous years, a simple plug-and-play swap. The compass sensor is contained within the mirror. I don't see it as an available accessory on one of the sites i usually check, another (subarupartswarehouse.com) does list it for the 2023. You probably don't even need the dealer to install it, but if it's bought with the vehicle and installed by the dealer it'll be covered by the 3/36 factory warranty.

There's an auto-dimming mirror with HomeLink listed in the accessory brochure, but a mirror without HomeLink should also work. Basically, any current-style frameless mirror with a 5-pin pigtail. The auto-dimming mirror will allow to install a set of exterior dimming mirrors. The part number for that one didn't change.

We have the Homelink/Auto-dimming/Compass mirror on our 2021 Touring and love it. But then again, I like using Homelink to control our garage door. I also installed this upgrade on our 2011 Outback soon after we bought it in 2011.

My 2021 Outback Premium, Option 11 came with the Homelink mirror and dimming side mirrors. I did not order the car so you get what is on it. I do not have a Garage so Homelink is meh, but I got used to the compass and dimming outer mirrors in my Santa Fe. I was so happy to get a manual rear hatch and keyed ignition that figured I would take the Homelink.
