Hi Y'all!
I wanted to create this thread to give information about the Subaru QI Wireless Charger Accessory. Subaru of America (SOA) does not provide specification information about the wireless charger accessory so I am providing that here.
* I understand the Subaru Wireless Charger (SWC) is not for everyone and not everybody particularly likes this outback accessory, please do not spread negativity and there are other threads about alternatives. This thread is just for the facts and specs of the accessory or questions.

Subaru qi Wireless Charger Part Numbers:
Original: H671SAN200 New: H671SAN202
qi licensing version and information:
WPC Qi version 1.2.4 standard. The charging process will be started only when the presence of a chargeable phone is detected.
Brand and Manufacture information:
Brand: Molex
Product Model: WCH-210
Licensing Information with the Wireless Power Consortium:
Jira Service Management
Apple wireless charging information:
How to wirelessly charge your iPhone.
Samsung fast charging information:
How to fast charge your galaxy mobile device?.

General Information:
The Subaru Wireless Charger is a 5 Watts charger that has the capability to reach 10 Watts qi charging profile version 1.2.4
Because of Apple's closed ecosystem and lack of support, iPhones can only reach 7.5 Watts with certain qi chargers and with the Subaru Wireless Charger Accessory (SWC) it can only reach 5 Watts. This is why with iPhones it gets very hot and doesn't charge very fast. If you have a Samsung phone that supports Samsung fast charge it does support (Samsung Fast Charge) which can reach about 9 Watts which is faster. The charger does work and yes it's quite slow (particularly with iPhone's) and generates a lot of heat but that is the nature of wireless charging and part of the enclosed design Subaru has chosen. I hope you find this technical information helpful as Subaru does not provide it. Godspeed!

This isn't "spreading negativity." It's spreading facts, just as you claim to be doing
I'm just simply explaining what it's designed to do with the hardware and charging profile specifications. I'm not sure what type of phone you have but I believe Samsung fast charge needs to be set up in the settings somehow. The one thing Subaru does say on their website is it does support Samsung Fast Charge so if that's not what you're getting you might want to call them because Samsung did certify Subarus charger when advertising the accessory.

My original post had a link to Samsung's website for how to set up quick charge.

I'm quite familiar with how my Samsung works and charges. So, puhleeze. I fast-charge it on my bedside wireless charger most nights.

I'm tellin' ya... I don't care what they SAY it will do. It will NOT and does not perform as advertised. It simply doesn't. I wish it did. But it does NOT work as you seem to be vested in claiming.

You're basically suggesting that I'm not seeing or experiencing what I am experiencing. Reminds me of the gaslighting so common with the media and politicians today.

I am a very happy and enthusiastic new Outback owner. I love the car. But THIS optional "feature" is just crap. Wasted space (and money).
I'm sorry you're unhappy. personally I'm happy with mine. After reading a lot of complaints I did extensive research and even took one apart to verify the hardware is there. Subaru does not make this part specifically someone else does so just to reiterate I'm sorry you're unhappy.

Where did you get the idea I am "unhappy??" I even said, and I quote myself...

I'm simply stating FACTS, just as you claim to be. The fact is the charger does NOT work like it should. There's a reason there are WIDESPREAD reports of it not working as advertised right here on this forum. Your "facts" do not negate the experience of MANY.

It's a minor issue, as I can plug the phone in... and do. I'm very happy with the car... absolutely LOVE the car. But nothing in life is perfect. Thankfully, this is a minor issue.

My point was to refute your claim that it works with Samsung but not iPhones. It does NOT work with a Samsung in my experience. What it does with iPhones, it does with Samsung, as well.

And yes... I know how to operate my Samsung phone. I've been a Samsung Galaxy user for many many years.
I got the idea you're "unhappy" given the fact that you're clearly irritated and upset over me giving the specifications and information about the wireless charger. The only reason I mention the Samsung information was because a lot of people don't always fully understand they have to enable some features for them to work as intended. I was not making assumptions about your knowledge or situation specifically. Not sure why you're so easily triggered. Maybe you have a bad charger, I don't know! If you're unhappy about your charger or it's not performing as you feel it should, you should reach out to Subaru of America. I simply made this post because there is a lot of ambiguity surrounding the information with this accessory. I will not be responding further as I feel like you're trolling. I am not claiming to know everything nor do I work for Subaru. This is the information not only found from the device but also certifications from outside companies.

I just want to say I know the Subaru Wireless Charger Accessory isn't the best and there's definitely room for improvement. This thread is not to dismiss anybody's complaints or feelings toward the device. I do believe a lot of issues can come from misunderstanding and simply not knowing what the device is and how it can function. With that said it's important to note it's not fair to compare Subarus Qi Wireless Charger Accessory with alternatives like Apple's MagSafe puck and QUALCOMM's quick wireless charging. These other wireless charging methods utilize closed-standards with proprietary technology often exceeding 10 or 15 Watts and not open to Subaru. I do believe Subaru tried to implement a wireless charger with an open standard like Qi that could be used across multiple devices, obviously nothing that can support multiple devices is gonna be the best at charging all of them.
