Looking at a good deal on these tires (matched set of 4 used, 3/4 the tread for 1/2 the price).

Anybody got an opinion? TireRack rates them highly, much better than the OEM Duelers.

(Note: these come in H-rated (130mph) and T-rated (118mph); the ones I'm looking at are T-rated, but I don't go that fast anyway...)

Out of curiosity I looked at the online reviews from several sites and they are generally favorable. Tire Rack's review from three years ago said they were good but picked them third out of three in their test, but did say they were the best in snow. Yet Tire Rack's consumer reviews puts this tire at the top, so I think you are making a good choice with the deal you have found.

Always been a fan of BFG, General and Firestone - I generally recommend the baby brothers vs the flagship Michelin, Continental, and Bridgestone to all but the most demanding drivers. They generally benefit from the same engineering, and are often hard to distinguish from the flagship brands re handling, traction, noise, wear, etc unless you really push them to the limits of their engineering.

Hi. I've been on the BFG Advantage TA Sport LT for a couple of years and wish I had never purchased um. My primary criteria was a quiet ride, better than the OEM Bridgestone Duelers. Tirerack had a top 8.8 noise rating for the BFG but after installation and first ride on street and hiway, a huge disappointment. At speeds over 60, the road noise gets even worst. Its claim is a Touring All-season but "sounds" more like an AT.

Now looking at tires reviews by consumer reports. Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive, Pirelli Scorpian Verde and Continental CrossContact are at top of my list.
