I just don't push the button. I don't even carry the remote fob.

 

That's my first thought. If you never use it, it's disabled by default.

 

not sure if there was a quick reference card for the remote start. There is a section in the owner's manual that's pretty much the two other leaflets that used to come with the early gen5 cars.

 

I have no idea how to disable it but sure wish could have the motor to continue to run when I open the door! The seats, heated steering wheel, Ac/heater should all go on under remote start and stay on until you start with the button!

 

One way to disable it would be via the plunger switch under the hood. You could probably just remove it from it's mount and secure it somewhere out of the way - that way, the system thinks the hood is always open, and will not allow remote starting.

 

LOL, so helpful, but plainly obvious to anyone capable of driving a car. I think it's safe to assume the OP has some reason to want to make sure it's disabled (attached garage comes to mind).

 

program one of your transmitters 8 different times to fill up all the available programming slots, then smash the transmitter into tiny pieces and discard.

take it to the dealer, they should be able to deregister the remote start control module and then the remote start won't work (hardware would still be in place if someone wanted to register and enable it again).
