Findway Floor Mats Review - Can't complain at this price

Preface:
Although the WIlderness comes with all-weather floor mats, I found that they have some glaring limitations. The area directly under the pedals on the drivers side remains exposed, and I found that a lot of dirt accumulates in that area due to your feet being constantly moving. Same goes with the dead pedal. I also found that in the Outback, the floor upholstery is particularly plush; more so then my previous cars. This is nice as it's a bit of an upscale car compared to my Crosstrek or BRZ, but the additional plushness also meant that I found it harder to vacuum dirt and dog hair out of the carpet.

So I started looking for some aftermarket floor mats. I wanted to get some before the Canadian winter hit, where I knew that the OEM mats will be easily overcome with the excess snow and salt. I looked at the usual suspects for mats: WeatherTech, Husky Liners, Tuxmat etc.. Then, of all things, I came across a Facebook ad, for a Canadian company called "Findway". I noticed their mats were significantly cheaper, undercutting WeatherTech and Husky by about 30%. I have previously owned WeatherTech and Husky X-Act Contour mats in previous vehicles.

Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, and wanting to support a Canadian company, I decided to drop by their warehouse/showroom in Markham, ON, as it was on my commute home from work.

The Mats:
The mats themselves appear to be made quite well. They are made of TPE Rubber, similar to the material that WeatherTech mats are made of. They are stiffer than the Husky Liner X-Act Contour line, more similar to Husky's Weatherbeater line. I did note that they feel thicker than WeatherTech's mats too. The edge of the mat has a curled lip, to prevent curling and deformity over time, an issue I had previously with WeatherTech mats.

The mats themselves have very high walls. The driver side reaches all the way behind the pedals and covers the dead pedal fully. Since the passenger side doesn't have a mat anchor, I was concerned that the passenger mat would slide around. Considering how high the mat goes up the footwell, the design appears to negate this issue. Time will tell once I take a trip with the passenger seat occupied. The back mats are pretty well designed. High walls, with a centre piece that covers the hump in front of the middle seat. My only concern is that the back mats lack a significant lip or wall on the side that goes under the front seats, potentially allowing fluids, salt or snow to run under the seat.

The mat texture is a bit more slippery than the WeatherTech's and definately more slippery than the Husky X-Act Contour., however its nothing that would compromise comfort or safety. The channels molded into the mats are not very deep, but the mats make up for it by having high sidewalls. Abnormally long pants may get wet as there's no deep channels for water/snow/mud to hide.

The mats carry a 3 year warranty against defects and cracking.

The Price:
For a complete set of mats (front and rear seating positions) I paid $169.00 (Canadian Dollars). For comparison, WeatherTech is asking for $268 (Canadian Dollars) for comparable mats and Husky is asking for US$238 ($299 Canadian) and US$165 ($207 Canadian) for the X-Act Contour and WeatherBeater mats respectively.

Final Thoughts:
The Findway mats have great coverage, and is comparable to the major competitors. The price undercuts even the economic lines of the major competition, and as such, contributes greatly to their value. Long term durability will have to be tested, but based off of initial perception of the quality, I think it will be just fine. In addition, being able to support a local business recover after a heavy economic downturn during a worldwide pandemic is a bonus. Canadians should definitely take these mats under consideration for that reason alone. If you are American, a similar approach could apply to WeatherTech and Husky. Having a local storefront to bring up any potential issues is a bonus.

Maybe you Canadians get different floor covering than we Americans do, but I'm not sure I'm even comfortable calling the floor covering in the Outback 'carpet', much less calling it 'plush'. It's Velcro! The carpeted mats that came in mine were nice, THOSE could be considered plush...

Thanks for this detailed review. I'm going to stop by there soon and pickup the same set. I've owned 2 sets of Weathertechs and for the price I will never go back to them again, they curl and fade and can't justify another set at those prices

I came across these mats through your Wilderness journal - highly impressed with these mats, and I have always used WeatherTech. The Findway's appear to be a bit more rigid and burly in their construction - I've noticed the set I got for my mother's Tahoe has curled up pretty badly at the rear passenger doors.

with the current exchange rate, a full set of these for my 2018 would arrive at my door for ~$155. A comparable WeatherTech set would set me back $210. Believe I'll be putting a set of these in Otis.

Are you referring to Findway's or WeatherTech's mats?

Ok... Just got Oreal mats in which are the same as the Findway. I can say that for 115.81 total off the amazon (Amazon.com: orealtrend Car Mats replacement for Floor Liners Subaru Outback 2020 2021 Heavy Duty All Weather Guard Black Front and Rear Car Carpet-Custom Fit-Tough/Durable/Odorless: Automotive), they are a steal. I immediately liked them better than my past WeatherTech's. They are obviously way nicer than the all-weather mats from Subaru. Maybe 1.5-2x's thicker and more rigid no doubt. They fit in better right off the bat than my WeatherTech's did. They are not slippery underfoot either. I do like the sidewall length of the Tuxmat and seeing they are now showing 2020+ on their site, even though they are sold out, they are a good thought at 200ish. But, I think I will stick with these. For the fit, finish and price I would DEFINITELY recommend these, Here are a ton of pics to show the Suby all-weather mats fit and finish versus these, now just need to vacuum the car good and should be safe for a long time....

Notice the pic above that my wife had already had the mat slid up like they do, not her fault!

I don't think sliding isn't going to be a problem anymore!

Much nicer in my opinion and for the price they don't seem to be able to be beat. This is straight out of the box. If I don't report back here assume they are great. If I see problems over time I will report back here.

Because of this thread I bought the Oreal mats. They are listed for 2020-2021 and the Amazon fit guide says they will not fit the 2022. In my many many years buying parts (I am 55) I have found that floor pans NEVER get changed or updated during a generation run. So if it fits a 2020 it will fit a 2022. And it will fit all years until a new generation comes out. I bought the mats a few days ago and they should be here next week.

I wanted to buy Findway mats. Their carpeted all weather mats. But they do not make them for our cars. So I checked the rubber ones and I think I will like them. I came on this forum and searched Findway which brought me to this thread. Since the Oreal ones are identical I ordered them. Cost was $109.99 and with tax came out to $117.28. Quite a bit cheaper than the Findway version

Think I'm gonna pull the trigger on these since they're cheaper ($179.98 CAD) than the Tuxmat ($256.80 CAD / $115.90 USD) and Weathertechs ($268.90 CAD / $179.90 USD). Seems like most ppl are enjoying them and they have higher coverage compared to the Factory all weather rubber mats which it wouldn't be as bad if have a coverage behind the pedals and dead pedal.

Prices are for Front and Rear Sets

Unfortunately, Amazon Canada doesn't have any listings for the similar Oreal mats that the US guys have access unless I want to order from Amazon US and pay more for shipping.

Where did you get $268 from? The weathertech are $180. Are you including the cargo liner? Although when I looked at those they were $120 so I'm still not sure where you get $268.

I am interested in the Findway Mats. Yes, the Oreal Mats on Amazon look the same as the Findway Mats. They may be of similar quality. I suspect that Oreal Mats are Chinese "knock-off" mats from Findway, but I have no proof. I don't think they care about patent protections in China. Thus, I would prefer to spend extra money to support a company that created its product and brand.
