Limited has the tilt mirror, but the auto folding is a touring trim feature.

 

All Outback trims seem to have "folding" mirrors but I think walker is right about the auto-folding mirrors: only available on Touring/TouringXT.

I LOVE them because I can get a little OCD about whether or not I've locked my car when I walk away from it but a quick glance back at the mirrors tells me that it's locked. Nice.

 

Right - people are mislead by the phrase "folding mirrors" not realizing that it means manual folding - you push on it with your hand and it folds.

 

Not even sure if that feature could be (cost effectively) added to the Ltd trim.

 

Thanks for reaching out. My second question would be can it be simply added. Is the harness in the door and just needs the switch. Sad this was not an option for limited as I did not want Napa seats but would like to have power folding mirrors

You need different mirrors as well, at a minimum, in order to make them motorized.

 

Probably cheaper to trade it for a touring.

 

Yeah - Limited do NOT have POWER folding mirrors but they do have manual folding mirrors/. Only the 20+ Touring/Touring XT have them.

 

I would sure check into installing them yourself. Let us know what you learn.

Woah, North American Gen6's don't have motorised mirrors as standard? Why on earth would they make that an extra-cost option (well, aside from making more money out of you)?

All Aussie Gen6's have motorised mirrors from the bottom end to the top end (ditto Gen5). The only actual difference is that the two lower models just have the manual press-to-fold button while the top variant automatically folds when the car is switched off. Passenger mirror also automatically dips on detected high beam too.

 

My 2020 OYNX doesn't have the power mirror option. My garage was built in 1930.The ONYX fits like a glove.Just takes a little practice.

 

Has anyone installed folding mirrors onto an Outback? I have a 2021 onyx and would like to do this.

 

I've seen it done in previous years because the loom is generally still there, just not used.

I'd remove your existing mirror, check for the connection necessary to make the power mirror work, then look at buying a 202x powered mirror that will slot into its place.You will also need the window mirror controls for your door too. I don't have any part numbers handy for you, but a quick Google should find those (or get them from a wrecker/salvage yard).
