I built a camper for sleeping/living out of my 2011 Outback. It utilizes 2 storage compartments at bottom of trunk with sleeping over the top. It should fit all gen 4 outbacks and possibly newer generations as well but I don't know for sure.
I don't use it anymore and hope that someone else can put it to use. It is missing one piece that can be replaced with a medium sized piece of ply wood (about 2'x4'). I'll include all the mounting hardware and foam bedding pads as part of the sale. I also have window nettings I would consider selling.
To use it, the rear seats must be fully removed. Once the system is installed, there is a travel mode where parts of the bed platform are quickly folded up and secured (2 minutes) and a camp mode where the bed platform is replaced and secured. The movable portions allow the sleeping area to be maximized and then also allow the front seats to move back for driving
