Highest Hitch for Gen 3

Of all the 2" hitch options for the gen 3 outbacks (05-09) which sits the highest?

I'm looking to get a hitch for a bike rack and would like it mounted as high as possible for best ground clearance / departure angle. Not interested in the 1.25" receivers as my rack is a 2".

After doing more research, It seems like there is only one 2" hitch option for the Gen3. Hidden hitch, reese, Curt, and drawtie all appear to be the same hitch. I've installed it and seems like the highest option given the design of the outback unless you wanted to take the bumper off and do some custom fab work.

King Springs + lift spacer = best prevention for drag and scrape of the bikes and hitch.

I put the draw tie on my XT and the Reese on my sisters LL bean. I can confirm they are the exact same hitch, just different name. That uhaul looks the same as well. I think the reese is the cheapest right now on amazon, I got the draw tie used.

If you want a simple bolt on hitch I don't think there is a way you could get the receiver to sit much higher. If you look at the instructions you'll see it bolts up against the bottom of the tow hook which gives it the strength for a 400lbs tounge weight rating.

If you wanted even higher, I have seen a custom job that came out of the rear bumper: TomC - 2005 USDM Subaru Outback H6 3.0R 5EAT - Xtreme Racing Tuning

Here is my sisters. The king springs really help keep the rear up. Let me know if you want more specific images.

Thanks for the photos and the link.

After shopping around a bit more, I see that they are indeed all the same hitch. I ended up going with the Reese for the price. It's a shame it hangs down that low unlike the 1.25" hitches I've seen installed - those usually hug the bumper quite a bit closer. I was looking for a 2" hitch and didn't want to take the hit on clearance.

I may have questions regarding the king springs, but that's probably for another thread once I do a bit of reading first.
