Hotspot Grayed Out

Hey all,

Attempting to download and apply the new software for my 2020 Outback. When trying to connect via Hotspot, the option is grayed out. Wife from home is not an option as the signal won't reach the car. Anyone else having issues of Hotspot option being there but completely grayed out so you can't toggle it on/off?

Also, I found a website others go to download the upgrade on a USB and upgrade. www.gen6firmware.com. Apparently it works well according to the video comments. Do you guys recommend it? Also, can you skip previous upgrades and just download the most recent version?

Thanks for any assistance.

Yes you can apply the latest update irrespective of how old your current software is, and yes that website is recommended for you to download to USB and install that way.

USB update is the best course for 20-25MY, I believe the 25MY can only be done by the dealer. OTA updates are a thing of the past as far as I know for 20-22MY. For 23-25MY OTA through DCM (not WiFi) works great, but is usually several months behind the latest USB updates.
