iPhone 7 - bluetooth connected: No sound from Google Map but works OK with Maps?

Bought a 2017 OB Limited just 2 months ago .. this is my first Subaru so still learning and get familiar with all the bells and whistles. I am just overwhelmed by all the fancy features -- my last car is a 2005 C230 which is like an antique comparing with the OB. LOL

I did some search already but have not found an exact matching topic.. so here I am posting the question:

1. I can connect my iPhone7 to the HU via BT
2. I can play music from YouTube through the car speakers
3. I have voice navigation from Maps in my iPhone7 though the car speakers
4. I do NOT have voice navigation from Google Maps through the car systems, the voice continue to come through the phone speakers.

On other hand, when the iPhone7 is connected to the HU via USB, then everything came through the car speakers.. Maps, Google Maps, YouTube, etc.. everything works

Is the issue (no Google Map navigation thru car speakers) related to the HU or software, or is related to some setting in my phone?

It's not the end of the world.. just annoying. Any insight please?

Not positive, but I believe there’s an audio setting on the phone you need to adjust. Swipe up from the bottom, long press the top right audio portion (says not playing in my screen shot) and change the selection. Long time since I’ve had to do that because I always plug into usb now, but I think that’s what I had to do with an iPhone and Bluetooth. If this doesn’t work the only other thing I can think of is within the settings for Google maps since that’s the app you’re having trouble with. Good luck and let us know.

Daniel / Walker: thanks for the reply... after reading your notes, i was JUST able to locate the setting screen in Google Map (it is behind my profile picture) —. Been looking for it all afternoon.. LOL

I found that Play Voice Over Bluetooth is set to “off” .. as i do not use BT headset.

I just tested in my OB, i have Google Map navigation thru the car speakers!!! Resolved!!!
