It's a cover up

So, one day last year cruising the interwebs I run across a picture of a 3.6L outback engine compartment, and so it began. The cover is so much cooler than the little plastic thingy on my 2017 outback 2.5L. I pop the hood on mine several times over the next week after seeing that 3.6 and my the engine bay just looks so basic and boring
So, I order an engine cover for the 3.6 and began to modify, here's what I came up with. Changed the coolant last night, and thought I should post this on the site where some kewl Subaru peeps could appreciate this modification besides my one friend with a Crosstrek.

were the mounts already there or did you buy those too? front sort of hook in, and the rear are just metal brackets with grommets where the cover has pins that push down and secure into the grommets.

EDIT: looks like you fashioned two fasteners near the front edge. I see the plastic things sticking up that aren't present on it stock.

The logo itself has been known to fall off too. I would maybe add some clear adhesive around the perimeter to keep it there.

:)
definitely do that - I pulled mine off and just removed the old adhesive and used some two sided acrylic tape I had. Overkill, but it's not going anywhere at this point. When I removed mine I barely had to touch it to get it to fall off.

Under the hood pics.
Meant to post these up earlier and forgot.
There were a few nights, a few beers, and just looking at it sitting on the motor, but, once I realized I was trying to get it to sit closer to the fire wall than it did on the 3.6L, it went some what quick. In the process I trimmed some areas that didn't have to be cut, I would say a good couple days with having to wait for epoxy to set.
