I've been happy with Kings Auto in downtown Raleigh, they aren't a dedicated Subaru shop but have experience with them.
I don't have any other recommendations for you, but this statement from you is good enough in my book to put this place on the list.

No one said they had to be Subaru-exclusive. We sorted that one out in post #22 of this thread.

Haven't been many entries for Illinois, but I just stumbled across this shop up in the Chicago area that advertises itself as a Subaru specialist providing a wide range of services. Haven't found any negative ratings/posts/comments about it, but have NOT used the shop myself so no promises/warranties express or implied.

@jmacey_1 The best I found when I lived in MA is somewhat near you - Bruce's Auto Repair in Hanover, MA
Thanks for the response, but Hanover MA is not really near me. It's a little more than an hour away. Although I did buy two Subaru's ('09 Outback XT 5sp and my current '17 Outback 3.6R) in Hanover, MA - Planet Subaru - I had great experience with them. There are times when I miss that '09 XT and wish I had kept it.

One more, which I haven’t personally experienced, but a friend with a 2006 H6 LLB claims is quite good:
Upland Autowerks
2501 N. Lombard
Portland OR

And there was also this interesting Japanese STI Forester parked out front, which always sways my opinion a few notches to know they have an interest in owning and maintaining something a bit out of the ordinary:
