If it's tight, monitor it.

I'd suggest new clamps, though.

 

When I replace hoses I always replace the clamps. Its only a few dollars worth of clamps and a piece of mind.

 

The clamps are very strong so no need to replace unless they are the wrong size. I'm not the original owner and previous mechanics did a lot of s**** work that I had to fix so they might used the wrong size clamps. I also need to get the car on the road ASAP. If the clamps are the right size there is no point on waiting for replacements.

So the question: are these the right clamps for that hose? Do they look the same in your car?
I checked and all gen 3 OBX use the same clamps for lower return hose to radiator, so can you take a look under your car and let me know?

 

My relevant parts were replaced a few years back while I had the timing belt redone so I have a worm gear clamp on mine.
I would say if you got it on and it is holding the hose, than size matters not. (I know how that sounds😶)
I would be more concerned with is the hose being held on under pressure, in which case too big of a clamp would not do the job.

 

Worm gear clamp is the way to go. Unless you use factory hoses, aftermarket hoses can be slightly thicker which makes the spring loaded clamp very difficult or impossible to install. Just be sure the clamp is on straight and don't over-torque it.
