It's time for new tires, on my wife's 2016 forester XT. The Yokohama's Ascent GTs just didn't last. I'm considering the CC2 as the best wet traction tire, although there are some complaints about noise but not many. Anyone with experience with these? The other option is the Primacy Tour A/S, it's a tad quieter, with a less aggressive tread.

Any other recommendations?

Humbly disgree. I've had both the AW03 and the CC2, and the CC2 is definitely better. With the Nokians you can feel the "softer" rubber in high speed curves, the car just isn't as stable. The Michelins feel like a high performance street tire by comparison, no decrease in handling at all.

The Nokians are a lot less expensive, and if you live in an area where tire dealers stock them they might be a good choice. The CC2's are so popular they are in stock everywhere, even in AZ.

I've been a long time Nokian fan, but based on my recent experience with both the AW03 and the CC2 I'll be sticking with the Michelins going forward.

Put CC2's on the 18 3.6R early Sept. I enjoy them, quiet, seem to handle well. I'll find out about in a couple of months. But I've had other Subarus without snow tires, they were fine in the snow with fresh tires. I ski, so I have lots of winter driving stories. Always ran Michelin MXV4's on the 92 Honda Civic during winter.

Thanks for everyone's impressions. I had the CC2s put on my wife's 2016 Forester XT yesterday. She loves them. I told her they may be noisier, but she said they were quiet. She also said the car felt better planted. She also said they were a bit bouncy, but checking the air pressure last night the installer had 36/36 F/R in the tires, instead of the door noting 33/32. Lowered the pressure to 34/33, I always run about +1 over the door rating. Much better.

I had some pause with the CC2s noting a traction/temp rating of a/b, then I read this post from @SilverOnyx:

That put any doubts to rest and I had them installed.

I liked them the bit I drove the car as well. So much so, I'm thinking of replacing my Yokohama Ascend LX tires early. They are ok, but I'm not a fan of an 80,000 mile tire, just a bit hard and much noisier than my wife's old Yokohama ascend GTs. I have many miles left on the LXs, but why keep a tire I'm not happy with. The subaru dealer a few years ago led me astray with the LXs not noting they were a 80,000 mile tire.
