2014 Outback w/2.5 Started replacing motor mounts today. Ran out of daylight before I could get too deep in it. The lower 2 bolts are going to be a chore and I think will be tackled with a box wrench am wondering why I don’t just take a saws all and cut them off. Thoughts?

What’s the best way to get the new mount in? Even with the engine jacked up it looks like a tight fit. Anyone have experience doing these? Professor google and Dr YouTube have not produced any info so far.

If you look at the top mount bracket there is a 90° cut out. Subaru put that there on purpose just to get the motor mount out. You still have to jack up the engine to get it lifted up enough to where you can lift the old mount out, pivot it and then put the new one in.

You're going to have to wrench the nuts off at the bottom. When you go back in with the new one put the inside nut on and tighten it down first. It will give you a little extra room to move your wrench. A ratchet head wrench works good.
