Does anybody know the specs for the 2.5 OEM battery?
I am specifically looking for the reserve capacity (RC). I think the CCA is like 356, right?
For comparison, the 3.6 specs would be great also, if you have them!

Thanks a lot!

At some point they started using the same battery in both the 2.5 and the 3.6. Maybe 2018? Prior to that the 2.5 was 356CCA as you said. I've never seen a confirmed number for the RC, and it isn't on the sticker on the battery.

They were probably too embarrassed to show a reserve capacity in the single digits range. :ROFLMAO:

From the MY 2015 Owner's Manual Specifications section:

Battery type and capacity (5HR)
  • 2.5 L models 55D23R (12V-48AH)
  • 3.6 L models 75D23R (12V-52AH)
48 Ah capacity is actually pretty respectable, especially for a 5-hour discharge rate (I think it's usually 10 hours, which should give a larger number). In theory that means if fully charged it can deliver 9.6 A for five hours under specified conditions before the voltage drops to some specified level.

I have never seen an RC (Reserve Capacity) figure, which is the number of minutes a fully charged battery at 80°F will discharge 25 amps until the voltage drops below 10.5 volts.

The battery details as written on the factory fitted battery in my Australian spec 2019 MY19 Outback 3.6R:

Panasonic 95D26R(F1), 20C: 73Ah (25ÂşC), 12V, CCA 630A (-18ÂşC), RC 128 min (25ÂşC), 18.9kg.

It is a D polarity std terminal & measures 260mm x 171mm x 200mm high (225mm total height).
