I need to replace the sub-frame in my 01 Outback, I have purchased an 03 Outback for parts with a solid sub-frame. Would it be easier to swap the entire unit (differential, axles, brakes)?? Just looking to be as efficient as possible. Any and all advice appreciated..Thanks

The EASIEST way is to unbolt the entire rear suspension as one unit. Subframe, trailing arms, struts, spindles, diff, etc.

4 bolts for the cradle
6 bolts for the trailing arms (3 per side)
4 bolts for the strut mounts
ABS sensor wires
Brake hoses
driveshaft

I'd recommend 2 floor jacks and a helper. That whole assembly is a heavy SOB. Probably accounts for 25% the car's weight.
