Four weeks ago, I ordered a 2014 OB Limited PZEV with Moon Roof, puddle lights, side molding and rear seat back protector 4 weeks ago for $29,096. This price is very close to other prices I have seen on this thread. The dealer also tacked on dealer fees, of $600 plus. Today the dealer calls and tells me he cannot honor the price as the price he quoted me did not include the moon roof. I have been waiting four weeks.

I had given them a $1000.00 deposit and had asked for contract but they did not give me one. I had the agreed price in email. Said there were waiting for the VIN number before the contract. today they said they do not know if they would have honored the contract anyway.

So, if anyone sees this and wants to let me know where they bought there 2014 at close to this price please let me know. I'm in Florida but willing to take a drive.

I cannot believe these dealers. I shopped for a very long time for this car and either had dealers try to sell me a model that was not PZEV as a PZEV or just do other bait and switches. I want PZEV as I may be moving to California. It's really not about the PZEV it's about the dealership and the salesman.

I got my deposit back. I think Subaru of Gainesville had every intention of doing this from the beginning. I think they hoped I would not walk away from the car after waiting for four weeks. I did walkaway and maybe from Subaru too.

I don't even know if I want a Subaru anymore. The salesman and dealers are horrible and it's too time consuming. I was going to go up North and get a 2013 and Subaru of Gainesville said they would do the 2014 at my price. Now, it's going to be really hard if not impossible to find the specs I want in a 2013. And I don't have the time to wait for another new order on a 2014. But the Subaru of Gainesville Dealer knew that. They are probably sitting in the dealership taking bets of which day I call back to see if I can still get the car I ordered. They said it was on the way. And I told them good, let someone else buy it...

Mastro Subaru in Sanford shows 2 OB's in stock with 5 others in transit. Anyone of the following sales associates are very knowledgeable about the product Kendra Haley, Jim Bowman, Francis King.

Dealerrater

I don't work for them or have any affilation with Mastro Subaru. This is first hand experince with them during my car buying process.

I wouldn't walk away from Subaru because of a poorly performing dealer...... That being said, how is it you gave them a deposit for a factor ordered out a contract and didn't see this coming? At least you got your deposit back without a fight.

The other issue you are swimming against the prevailing current of lots of market demand and inadequate production capacity to satisfy demand. Sooooo, some of these dealers are being overly confident and smug in the means and manner they are conducting sales. Your best bet is to look at several other dealer's inventory and try to find a vehicle on a lot that is closely equipped with options features you want.... FWIW the $600 dealer fee was the first clue they were bandits..... I definitely would walk on that alone as that would be a deal breaker....

Cast a larger net and you will likely find a better dealer and get what you want....

My experience with Gainesville dealership was mostly over the email and couple conversation over the phone.
I've decided not to deal with them.
Very shady dealer, dealerships fees highest I encountered so far in FL ($690)
Also they putting smth like "governmental fees" ($640) - which they refuse brake dawn what exactly they are...
Nobody else have those :)
Very pushy..

Avoid if have a choice
