Sway bar mounting centering (?)

So my 2008 Outback sway bars (both ends) are noisy in the bushings, so I'll replace and grease the bushing along with the links, which clunk...

My question; what keep the sway bars from shifting/drifting laterally over time? Is there a rib that engages in the bushing or something that allows rotating but keeps it centered from side to side?

I haven't taken mine apart yet.
The stock bars need no lateral locks. WhiteLine Bars are wider, and need the collars they include.

If you have extreme lateral movement, I would suspect struts, or control arm bushings...

As always CKE SSP sway bar bushings are the ( . )( . )s
