USB ports don't work

TIA. I just bought a used 2021 Legacy XT and it has this wireless charging pad. The USB ports do not work at all and I am not able to use Apple Car Play or Android Auto or even charge my phones with the USB ports. Can anyone tell me if these things are related (this installed charging pad is making my USB ports not work)? The charging pad is horrible by the way; it doesn't deliver much charge to my phone.

Big bummer on the USB ports, those should definitely work. Are you still covered under warranty? If not, you may just have a blown fuse, that's an easy place to check first.

As for the charging pad, there are an abundance of threads on these forums complaining that it sucks. Again, it might be covered under warranty, or you can buy the parts to change it into a storage area for under $20 and less than 30 minutes in labor. I was under warranty for mine, and they refunded me the cost of the charger with Subi-bucks. I personally think the wireless charger is overall not good.

Thank you. I thought we had checked this on our test drive (as a matter of fact, I am sure we did). And it worked then. Since we picked it up, we have nothing through those ports. We have tried multiple cords and two different phones (both Apple and Android). Unfortunately, the car is not under warranty. I'll start checking fuses, but nothing else in the car seems to be having a problem and I'm not really sure which fuse it would be. I doubt its the "Audio Navi" fuse, because the head unit otherwise works. Due to bad privacy management by the dealership, I found out the car used to be owned by a co-worker, so I will check with them if they ever had a problem.
I do see used USB blocks on Ebay. I might have to just buy one of those and try it.
Thanks for the info on the charging pad. I was seeing that in plenty of threads. I can attest that it is basically worthless. Maybe I will take that out and try switching out the USB power supply.

Blue Ridge: I think we were out your way this weekend cruising around the Blue Ridge parkway.
Nice! Check Road and Facility Closures - Blue Ridge Parkway (U.S. National Park Service) for road closures before you go. Some of the shaded parts just don't thaw and they are closed a lot longer than you think they would be. Looks like all of VA is open and should stay open. Parts of NC, probably at higher elevations, are not. I'll driving west this weekend for a long ski trip.

I had my 22 OB a few months and a USB port/head unit would not accept a software update so the dealer ordered a new head unit.

Everything else in the car works, so I am assuming it is not a fuse. My understanding is that the fuse would be the NAVI/Audio (which works) or the Cigar fuse, which also works. I will dig around and check all of them tonight.
I was hoping someone would be able to tell me what that charger is by the photo. It came with the car. From the installation instructions I find on the internet, it appears to be an OEM Subaru device.
The previous owner says that everything worked.

Based on the embossed images, that is an OEM charger.

Thanks for your help.
Every fuse on that car is good.
I have tried software update, factory reset, and hard reset (holding the power button until the radio restarts) but nothing works. I tried disconnecting the battery for a complete reset. The only things in the car that don’t work are those two usb ports. I tried multiple cords and phones. Even the aux jack works - I can play music through “aux” by plugging an iPod into that “line in” jack.

I think my next step is to remove and replace that $80 auxiliary block. I think I have to remove the head unit to get it out. It doesn’t seem to want to pry out. I have a feeling it is that $300 phone controller unfortunately.

Is it possible to use a multi-meter and check for voltage on the USB ports? Perhaps this is a redundant test, given the applications which do not work.

Thank you. I am at a loss to be honest. My guess is to replace the Aux assembly that you have in the red box above, but one aspect of it does work: I can push music through the "line in" port and it plays if the infotainment system is in "aux." That part is only $80. The $300 phone controller is not a charger, is it part #86222A in the diagram above and it apparently controls the phone integration into the infotainment system. It is part #86229AN01B and is called a mobile phone controller module. It is not a charger.
