Walker vs Bosal

the exhaust on my 09 is getting near the end of life, the resonator hanger is hanging by a thread, its noisy, but no sign of external leaks yet.

I took it the local Meineke for a price, $1200 to replace from the Cat back. So I will be doing it myself.

Any opinions on Walker vs Bosal? the Walker kit is about $360 and Bosal $300 on Rockauto. I like the Bosal in that the resonator pipe is continuous, the Walker kits has a joint between the resonator and the Y pipe.

The flange on the Cat looks like its still good, and the Meineke shop they can weld on just the flange if I needed it, and will let me bring in the parts and install for $200 also. If its a clean remove and replace, its awkward but doable without a lift.

Other option is get a clamp on hanger for the resonator, and keep driving until it develops a leak.

I've used Walker on a previous vehicle. Was fine for the remaining 3 years I had that car.

I installed the Bosal system today. It was a simple remove and replace, and took 2 hours. I used an angle grinder to cut the muffler bolts, and the spring bolts came off with an impact wrench.

Fitment was fine.

The kit didnt come with new spring bolts, I ordered a walker set at the same time, the shoulder on the walkers did not match the OEM, and I could get a seal, so I used the old shoulder bolts. I still dont think like the seal of the donut , i couldnt feel any leaks but it doesn't look right. I may order a Subaru and new spring bolt kit in a day or two after driving the car.

Seems fine for a 10 year old car.

Everytime I do an exhaust I swear I will never do one again.

Another follow up. I didnt like the fit of the BOSAL gasket, this morning it was leaking. The profile of the oem is different and the thickness, the BOSAL is about 1/8 inch thinner. I purchased a FelPro today at the autozone, and it matches the OEM exactly.

Replaced the BOSAL with the FelPro and the system is tight.
