Anyone ever seen or drove one of these? Apparently it is a Soobie with a Saab body. Looks kind of cool and relatively cheap! Any thoughts, comments, anyone ever seen one?

Were the 9-2s made in Japan too? I don't think they make Imprezas in the states, do they?

Jeff
yes. they were made in japan at the Ota-Gunma plant by Fuji Heavy Industries and based on the Subaru Impreza, but with a modified body, suspension, and interior.
i love em. basically they are the first gen design of the 06-07 impreza front end.
no. they don't make imprezas in the states. but they do make legacys, outbacks, and tribecas as well as camrys.

As a previous Saab owner, I love the look of the Saabaru. It's got the quirky looks of Saabs and the great mechanics of Subarus, which is a godsend since Saabs electrical parts suck.

I actually like the look of the 9-2x Aero better than the WRX Wagon, especially in dark blue. Good luck with your search!

I liked the Saabarus as well, but never enough to pull the trigger. It just didnt make that much of a difference for the price tag it was calling for.

Or even better, the '08 9-3 Aero with the 280bhp turbo 2.8L v6

;)
All the 9-3s are listed at 255. Where's the 280? Interestingly, in the Saab site, the sport sedans and the sportcombi all start at 28s, and the convertible is listed to start at $40k? I mean, it starts at the same list as their V8 9-7 SUV. Is this a typo in their main site, or the convertible really add that much premium due to a hacked roof, cause there's nothing much added anywhere else.

the site might not be updated yet. and the 280 xwd model might not be available yet. the 280 comes with more boost pressure and their awd system.
it's not that the convertible is expensive as much as it is the sport ute is cheap.
it is cheap because it is a gm trailblazer platform with a saab front end. gm did this to save saab development money on creating an entirely new vehicle.
