Best OBD2 Scanner for under $500?

Just had someone ask and I realized I could use an upgrade from my super cheap ($25) OBDII scan tool and my trusty if archaic Scangauge II ($150)

I would like something that could program Subaru TPMS sensors, read ABS / Airbag codes, program GM Theft Lock Radios, and do Subaru Relearn Procedures for CVT replacements.

Just to name a few things off the top of my head. Looking online the amount of options are seemingly endless and right now the winner is looking like the TOPDON ArtiDiag Pro Bidirectional Scan Tool but I'm open to others suggestions.

Just getting tired of reading reviews and thought I would see what others here have liked.

I would put a lot of credence in what is recommended by Ivan over at Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics.
Ivan has a couple videos reviewing various OBDII stuff.

I have Autel series scanners. Bidirectional, TPMS capable with the sensor built in the tool. I can perform a variety of programming and relearn functions, even programming fuel injectors on European cars. There's a lot of options and the price varies for the model. WiFi communications, blue tooth interface, (no cables which means I can move around under a car/truck with the tool while operating switches and solenoids), data logging, full system scans and easy to use. Works better than any SnapOn scanner which sells at 5xs the price.

The first year came with free updates. The annual updates cost me $150 and $350. They run specials through the year for tools and updates which drops the costs. You may not need constant updates. I do because I work on everything.

After seeing it recommended by Ivan at Pine Hollow auto diagnostics on YouTube, I have just purchased a Topdon Topscan unit for around $70 Australian.

This scanner uses an Android or Apple, phone or tablet as the screen via a Bluetooth connection. I do not think it does TPMS but it does do CVT relearns and ABS cycling as well as other bi-directional functions.

The bonus is it has free updates for life.

Might be worth checking out.

I will let you know what I think of the unit when I have a chance to use it.

Did you get the pro version? I need a new scan tool and would like something more than pulling codes.
