Hard for me to make a decision since there's not a lot of reviews on the WS90... looking for a good commuter tire for plowed urban Twin Cities. Leaning toward X-Ice if that tire is going to seemingly last longer. Willing to give up a little snow performance for longevity.

MN resident running the Blizzak WS-90 and commuting 70 miles each way daily. I could have gone for either but got a great deal from Discount Tires on the Blizzak with 17" steel wheels and cloned TPMS valves saving me almost $300 over the Michelin. The Blizzaks are great so far. I do not regret my choice. I do not have personal experience on the X-Ice but I do like Michelin in general. Ask me again at the end of winter and I'll tell you about tire wear.

I'm giddy about how well my X Ice 3 set performs, especially on hard-pack and even ice. The only thing I've ever had that was better had studs. They tend to float a little in deep, unpacked snow, but eventually they do dig in.

And, as noted, they're super quiet and seem to be lasting well. I've always been suspicious about Blizzaks because of the half-depth winter rubber. HPH
