Has someone know or has successfully installed the Subaru spring kit (P/N 34130AL010 on the 2016 2.5i Limited?

Thanks, Kevin
Trim or engine does not make a difference. All 2015-2019 Outbacks will use that kit.

Just did this 5mins ago. Two things to note:
1. Did anyone else have their spring covered in a white grease? mine was covered in it when I pulled it out.
2. If you look closely at the pic below, you can see the old spring (with grease) and the new spring. The new one is both a thicker wire, AND longer for more preload.

Yes mine had grease. I soaked the new one in a cap of Subaru ATF then installed it.

Thanks to sumptimwong for the thread, nice video, and info. My 2017 has been making the front-end noise since I got it (used) 2 years ago. It was really bad on one particular stretch of road that's got a lot of small cracks in it. Unfortunately, it's the road that leads to my house, so I experienced the issue almost every day.
I got new tires yesterday and that improved the noise a lot. The tires were the originals, so were pretty hard and no doubt that was a big part of my problem. Today I swapped the spring and the situation improved even more. I'm a very happy camper.
P.S. Yes, you need a TS40 bit. I had a T40 with the center hole that I thought might do it... but nope, and it's a whole different animal.

Yeah I had the same issue... I thought I was all set with my torx bit and then I got the new screw from the dealer and I realized that I would be waiting to get another tool... Just do yourself a favor and order it from Amazon because nobody is going to have it in stock locally. Lol

I did the spring fix on my 2016 and still have the same clunk. Has anyone else found another solution?
The noise came back for me after the replacement and I also replaced sway bar end links which solved the issue. Bruceyyyy has a YouTube on how to replace.

Well this is definitely one of those "wish I had found this thread sooner" things! I have a 2018 Outback and had this rattle/clunk. Two separate Subaru dealers in my area diagnosed it as bad shocks. Replaced both front. That helped for a while (maybe until they settled?). But the clunk was still there, especially when cold. What was frustrating is after I found this thread and the technical service bulletin, I called dealer and they didn't seem to have a clue about it (go figure).

I took 20 minutes and replaced the spring. And it is 90% better!! Blows my mind something so small could have such an effect. Thank you so much to the original poster for this thread and the video!!!
