How can I increase passenger seat height?

How can I increase passenger seat height in my 2017 limited? It needs to be about 2 inches taller. My wife complains she does not like her legs stretching out. She wants them more like sitting in a chair.

Only two options that I know of.
Get a 2" tall cushion- This is the cheapest and maybe is the best
Fabricate a 2-inch spacer under the seat rails. Not sure if how will affect seat safety

I did a search and apparently either missed postings about solutions or there is none. Thanks.

2" inches is a lot.

The only way I see a spacer being safe is to fab something the entire length of the seat track.

I'd go with a cushion or trade the OB back for a Forester. "More like sitting in a chair" is exactly how you sit in a Forester.

I would do a full-length spacer. Forester seat is an interesting idea. Does the Forester have airbags in the seat? Thanks

Since my wife and I are both short ... I'm a ~5th percentile U.S. male and she's a ~50th percentile U.S. female ... this has been at the top of our "future features wish list" since we bought our Legacy in 2014.

Simple seat rail spacers are always difficult to engineer without affecting crash safety, especially given the angled attach points employed by Subaru.

Retrofitting a manual height adjusting mechanism, like used in base trim U.S. cars, from the driver's seat of a RHD Legacy or Outback (U.K., Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc.) seems like it would be an ideal technical solution, but the R&D logistics would likely be somewhat problematic.

try sitting in a Ascent. such will show what the "new" style seats will be like in the 2019 forester coming in the "fall"
with the articulating section on front.

such should be in the 2020 leg and outback too.

however those 2019 foresters seem to retain the narrow seat style that they have now, as per the pics of the show cars.

agree on foam pads. a good easy start.

vs. spacers and longer bolts for the seats. (and those bolts got to be really strong to hold the seat down in a crash).

beware memory foam although maybe ideal and easy to get,...can also get oddly warm vs others. like the ready made ones may have a memory foam base, and other foams on the top

eagleeye, afaik the articulated section is only on driver side in 2019 Ascent; do you think the articulating section will be on both driver and passenger seats going forward?

Thanks. Anyone else recommends any other brands of cushions?

Totally agree on the 2019 Ascent's disappointing passenger seat arrangement.

The passenger side doesn't have articulation section in any trim, nor does the Limited/Touring have the 10-way power adjustment on passenger side, only 4-way, so passenger can't be moved up/down. Nor is the passenger seat have any of the "memory seating" adjustment, so alternating drivers still requires the passenger seat be adjusted manually.

Would definitely pay for an optional passenger seat upgrade, it's one of our sticking points in making purchase decision.
