Looking for a bolt on kit for a larger CVT cooler. Does anyone know if there's a kit available that would retain the factory mounting but simply replace the existing CVT cooler with a larger one?

I know Mishimoto has a CVT cooler kit for the WRX, but they don't have a bracket to make the install clean. If you were to use their kit, you'd have to fabricate your own bracket to mount up the Mishimoto cooler.

Keeping temperatures of the CVT fluid from overheating leads to a happy transmission.

I never said the stock is too small. I said/asked about an upgrade to a larger CVT cooler that bolts to the factory mounting locations.

If people are just driving around on the road and does no towing, no offroading, etc. then there's no reason to upgrade.

There are aftermarket transmission coolers available from companies like Mishimoto... however the customer is then on their own to figure out mounting configurations.

Also... If you're installing the CVT cooler correctly, then even if sized too large, the CVT fluid would just sit at the bottom end of the operating temperature range as there is temperture controls in place. Which would mean that your chances of overheating when placing a high load (towing, off roading, etc etc) is much lower.

There are also multiple threads of people towing and keeping track of CVT fluid temperatures.

The Perrin one is located here: https://www.perrin.com/shop/engine/transmission-oil-cooler-kit-for-cvt (I am not affiliated with Perrin.)

Perrin says their cooler is four times larger and will keep the CVT temps 15-20 °F cooler than stock under heavy use. They also say it comes with custom brackets to easily mount the cooler to the front of the car.

The current price is $424.15 US.

Well I did a 800 mile quick round trip to AZ with a barely loaded car, 'average' speed 85 and a couple decent hills, my first real 'temp test' trip with the new catback, CAI, Cobb TMIC and CVT cooler. I have a scan gauge II and it never broke 200. Mostly 175, the hills were the only push near 200. It helped the temps didnt break 75 degrees for most it.
