Guys.

100% functional and removable. I only put it on when I need my full spare tire. I have a Front runner platform, so also sit on top the platform with chairs. I bolt my spare on top using front runners tire mount. The tire mount has a center bolt about 16-20 inches long. You cannot lift a full spare that high from the ground and over the bolt unless you’re Lebron James. I tried!

I used to carry a telescoping ladder. It was taking up inside space. Also I mount my rotopax water container for showers and strap my trash bag to it.

And I don’t need a 4runner Pro. I have a this fun lowkey economical Subaru and a Yota LandCrusier.

I guess your photos are to show that it's removable but I was hoping to see more photos of you with the ladder in action. What do you think about the load on the hinges? Some people are heavier than others.

i’ll take and share more photos of how it attaches and share.

i showed pics to show that I can’t lift the tire an additional 2 feet over the height of roof rack to clear it’s mount. Even when standing on the running board

The rear hatch is assisted by 2 gas struts. It’s fine but you definitely don’t want to carelessly hang on the ladder. Quick up and down. I take 1 step on the bumper and 1 on the ladder and i’m up. Sometimes I have to lightly assist the opening. It’s as if the hatch is detecting an obstruction and will open then close. So sometimes it needs manual assistance in the first inch of opening. I wish the hatch was manually operated and not motorized.

OOOOOOOOHHHHH NO! Gives me flashbacks to my Tanker driver days when I'd have to climb up on top of a very slick tanker in the winter to drop fuel in the tanks......

It's not my car - the photo was from the product website, so you could ask them at nashfabco@yahoo.com

But it looks like this:
but I don't know what mounts they used.

I got the ladder for my outback, but it seems little too heavy, the trunk kept falling off when i open it do you have any solution?

I’ve had this ladder for almost a year. Sometimes (50%) the automatic motorized lift gate will detect an obstacle. It will begin to lift, then make a beep sound, then close the gate.

The solution is to physically assist the gate diring the first few inches of lift to overcome the weight.

Another solution is upgrade the dampeners to thank senused in the outback without the automatic motor. Apparently those damper provide more lifting pressure. I have not confirmed this

@Legalizeit has the ladder and he says that he has to help the gate lift otherwise it thinks there's an obstruction but otherwise it works for him.

I am glad I found this post! I am planning a really long road trip on all forest service roads and have been trying to figure out how I want to mount my gas and water cans. I didn't want to get the mounts on the sides of my car so this will work perfect!

A folding stepstool of the height you need might work better since the tailgate ladder is in a fixed position and realistically you're more likely to access from the side. Don't forget that there's places at the bottom of the door openings where you can step but that might not be enough.

There's also stool like things that attach to tires but I don't think that's too practical compared to a step stool.

Folding stools come in plastic or metal.
