I am looking for a front tower strut brace & a rear strut tower brace that will fit a 2006 Outback 2.5 XT turbo. Anyone know of any that will actually fit?

I contacted IPD/Rallitek by telephone & ordered up a Cusco front & rear tower brace which they said would fit a 2006 Outback 2.5 XT turbo. Well, to make a long story shorter, they ended up sending me two sets and neither pair would fit so that was the end of the Cusco strut tower braces. Below are the Cusco part numbers they sent which didn't fit & were returned:

660-540-AN / Cusco Front Strut Tower Brace
660-541-A / Cusco Rear Strut Tower Brace
680-541-A / Cusco Rear Strut Tower Brace
680-540-A / Cusco Front Strut Tower Brace

Thanks for your help......Dave

Do I see light?

When I spoke with IPD/Rallitek yesterday, I was instructed not to bother checking the Cusco rear strut tower brace (part# 680-541-A) for fit when I received but to just return it.

Today it appears IPD/Rallitek has found the correct Cusco front tower brace for my 2006 OBXT 2.5 turbo which they have shipped to me. Also, they now want me to check the rear strut tower brace (part # 680-541-A) for fit when it arrives tomorrow since it is a possibility that it will fit.

I'll keep ya posted.........Dave

What exactly are the fitment issues, bolting up, or clearing the engine bits?
Bolting up ---- On the first one, the rings which attach to the strut had an offset which didn't match & the bolt holes didn't align --- in other words if the bolt holes did align one end would have been attached to the strut and the other end would have been down by the radiator on the passenger side. On the second one, the bolt holes didn't align AND the bar was too short.

Well, today I received that Cusco rear strut tower brace (part # 680-541-A) that IPD/Rallitek said may or may not fit so I gave it a try ---- it didn't fit --- incorrect brackets & too short. It is on its way back via UPS.

I called IPD/Rallitek and it appears things are straightened out now. They got hold of the Cusco Rep and the Rep gave them the correct part numbers & both are on their way to me now. So if they don't fit "BLAME THE FACTORY REP!!!!"

I gotta tell you folks --- IPD/Rallitek are good people. They are refunding the cost of shipping on the returns (plus the purchase price of course) AND they are not charging me shipping on any of the parts they shipped after the initial purchase AND they are discounting the parts.

I will be receiving the front & rear strut tower braces sometime next week and let you know the outcome.

Does anybody have this information for a '98.

I'm guessing that if suspension bits from a wrx will fit, that the tower bars would be identical. correct?
WRX, Forester and OBS share the same platform suspension/running gear wise.

The OB (full size - Legacy based) is a different platform.

http://www.whiteline.com.au/

They have swaybars, front strut braces, links etc. No info on a rear strut brace.

Follow the link to Online Parts Catalogue, enter vehicle, model , year etc.
