Just like the 5th gen thread, let's get the price thread going to track prices and MSRPs.

Hmmmm. I tried getting Costco pricing and was told by the local dealer that there is no Costco pricing on the 2020 yet and Costco website says the same. How were you able to do this? Maybe there are regional differences?
Try this:

Enter your Zip code and the site should lead you to the Onyx XT trim.

Already tried that. I get this:
The vehicle you selected does not currently feature prearranged pricing.
However, we are currently working with our local dealer to secure pricing for the 2020 Subaru Outback 2.4T Onyx Edition XT. Prearranging low pricing for you is our top priority, and while it could be available soon, we cannot estimate exactly when.
If you are still interested in this vehicle or would like to view additional models from this manufacturer, visit our participating dealer for the Costco Auto Program experience. Our specially trained dealers are dedicated to providing superior service and consistent professionalism.
Connect me with your participating dealer to receive the great Costco experience.
Hmm...where are you located? It shows up in 63146 zip code.

Arizona. I guess there are regional differences, or maybe even differences by dealer. But I'm not sure what you are showing with that attached picture. I can get all that info on the Costco site as well, but not info about the Costco pricing (which comes from a dealer after they are contacted via Costco).
Oh, I thought Costco wouldn't even show you the info. Now it makes sense.

Looking at a 2020 OB XT Touring.
I see there are threads talking about the VIP programs but they are not up to date. Does anyone have current details as to what the discount is and if it is the best way to go or if Costco or just going in like a total A-Hole to beat up the dealer. I prefer not to be that guy but i am in sales and my biggest PITA always get the best price, sad to say.

I appreciate the help
Not sure but this is the price I was quoted for the Onyx XT from my local dealer. Not sure if this is a good price:

Great price. Can you share details of dealer and salesperson you worked with?
Forgot to add, this was using both the VIP program and the Loyalty coupon. The VIP program price is the same across all dealers, no need to haggle.

Congrats on the car and a great deal. If the final price before doc fee and TTL? I also ordered a my Limited in Green and expecting delivery last week of Oct!
Forgot to add, this was using both the VIP program and the Loyalty coupon. This is before TTL and doc fees. The doc fees are $200 in MO and the dealer does not collect TTL so in MO OTD price does not include TTL. . TTL in my case come to around $2700. So the total is around $38,000.

Factory options with dealer mark up?

Went to the dealer to price a 2020 Limited XT today and provided the Subaru web link to the build I had put together with the various accessories listed. I was surprised when the dealer pulled out a sheet of paper showing the same accessories (trailer hitch, side molding, rear window shades) at 10 to20% more than what was shown on the Subaru site. When I asked why the difference, the reply was that the Subaru price didn't include the labor to install these items. I told the sales person that made no sense, but she insisted that's how it was, and her manager backed her up. I call B'S on that. Anyone else hear this when negotiating accessories?

Sounds right. If you have them install the accessories at the factory, you save on labor. Either Port or dealer installed parts have additional labor added.

For example, I was quoted invoice price for factory installed hitch mount but if I wanted to add the same hitch at a later date, a couple of hundred dollars would be added to the install cost for labor at the dealership.

But it is not possible to get it installed at the factory currently - as several other options I ordered with - do not go on at port, I was told by the dealer - was this not your experience?
That was my experience. That's the down side of ordering too early. I wanted the hitch and key based remote start but neither were available for a factory install when I ordered and will have to pay labor at the dealership + parts' cost if I want to get them installed at a later date.

In the end I decided I can live with Starlink for remote start and will wait for 3rd party hitches if and when they become available. Winter is approaching and I wouldn't need a hitch until next summer any way.

Here is the list. Initially, all circled items were quoted, but now (24 hours later) the X'd out ones are coming that way from the factory....
Also adding clear film and tinting prices as FYI...

So the factory cost for the wireless charger is $245, dealer quotes $309. Remote start from dealer is $550, from factory it is $463.

White 2020 Outback Onyx XT with Power Moonroof + 11.6-inch Multimedia Navigation System package

Accessories (didn't care about most but this was the car they had on the lot):
All Weather mats
Exterior auto dim mirrors
Rear bumper cover
Rear seatback protector
Rockford audio upgrade
Wireless chargers
LED Map and dome lights
Splash guards

MSRP: 39,448
Negotiated Price: 35,500

I think I got a decent deal
Pretty similar to what I got for a similarly equipped onyx XT with the VIP discount, good job on the negotiation!

In Central Texas, several dealers told me Costco pricing was $1000 off MSRP. Pretty bad. I went with VIP instead for 2% below invoice.
Same here in Missouri.

Oh, I thought you were talking about a 2020 model. My order is for a 2020 model (Onyx). I do have the order details that shows my name on the order to the factory, and I gave my credit card info for the $500 deposit. I made the order a week ago but they still have not charged my card even after I asked them about it and they said they would do it that day (3 days ago). Mind you, this is after they tried to renig on the agreed price saying they made a mistake by not including an option I wanted (Option code 22) even though all of my requests were in writing. They finally agreed to honor their original price but I just don't have confidence they will follow through. I have no experience with this dealer. This is actually only my second new car ever.

Good tip about calling SOA directly. I have the Vehicle Order Number (VON) so hopefully I can track it independent of the dealer as you suggest.
I did the same thing for my order and heads up, you may get a different response when you call donate depending on the customer care person you get. Some are a little more forthcoming with information than others. The later will direct you to the dealer for information.

For those looking to lease and compare. Leasing a onyx xt with package 22 (nav), 3yr 12k miles a yr, $2k cash down plus 1700 from trade in so 3700 total.....final monthly payments 390/mn. If you take away my trade in with only $2k down it’s 437/mn. Residual value is just under $24k. The deal seemed high to me for a car with an msrp in upper $30s but my trade in got it to a reasonable price for me. This is in Oregon where there aren’t any taxes except for a $150 privilege tax.
Never put any money down on a lease. If you total the car the day after you get the car, you are out of that down payment. It will not be reimbursed by insurance.

How do you get the $500 loyalty coupon? All I see - Subaru offers to cover the first month lease payment for upto $500. Thanks
Probably only applies to buying the car and not for leasing.
