Just like the 5th gen thread, let's get the price thread going to track prices and MSRPs.

What are people’s experience in Southern California regarding pricing on new 2020 Outback? I live in the OC and have contacted 8 dealers. All say they don’t have Costco pricing yet. 4 told me I couldn’t place an order yet. I have VIP pricing through work and that website also doesn’t show pricing for 2020 yet?

6 dealers want MSRP, one dealer offered $500 off and the best offer so far is $1,000 off MSRP.

Looking at a 2020 OB XT Touring.
I see there are threads talking about the VIP programs but they are not up to date. Does anyone have current details as to what the discount is and if it is the best way to go or if Costco or just going in like a total A-Hole to beat up the dealer. I prefer not to be that guy but i am in sales and my biggest PITA always get the best price, sad to say.

I appreciate the help

I'd filled out "the request quote" for giggles last night from my local dealer on a 2020 Onyx XT.

They emailed me a quote of $32,769+taxes/fees. $3277 down @ 2.9 APR with a payment around $455 for 72 months.

A few minutes ago, omeone called me from "Subaru Care" (wasn't the dealer) and asked me some more questions...

I told her basically I was just tire-kicking since I just got my 2016 from the dealer in June (6/28) and the only way I would even entertain trading my car in for a 2020 is if they pay off my trade and possibly maybe a little extra to help offset with the rape OOOPS I meant excise taxes (property taxes for you non-yankees) which would be another $2-3k on a new car that I already paid sales tax on the first year.

You know the deal... she YES'd me to death, talked about the guaranteed trade-in program and I have an appointment next Saturday, 9/21.

That would be insane if I went there next week, got the terms I asked and they actually have an Onyx XT available. It should be fun either way. The dealer is close enough to me that I don't mind going, if anything just sit in a Gen6 and check it out in-person.

Said dealer is Subaru of Wakefield in Wakefield, MA.

I'm in the Houston area. Been shopping local Subaru dealers for a 2020 Touring 2.5 i (I'd rather the mileage than the turbo). Costco price is $35,006, or $900 off invoice. But the "Costco dealer", Gillman Subaru North, won't come off the MSRP. Says they're in too high a demand/ too scarce supply to make a Costco deal. Same story from other dealers. I'm fine waiting for a dealer to meet that Costco price. Was wondering if anyone in the Houston area is seeing a dealer that will even sell at invoice pricing.

I tried the costco price inn 2012 when I bought my current - and the price quoted wasnt as good as 2 other dealers were offering just through email. (many dealers here in So Cal).
My friend just tried it at a dealer for a 2019 and it didn't help her at all either - she got a better deal without it.
Kinda seems like a racket - maybe sometimes it helps.

In my area the Costco “price” has been pretty decent for my wife’s 2012 Honda Odyssey and my 2009 Forester. I just used it to order a 2020 Outback XT Touring. Price quote was invoice. When at the dealer the saleswoman asked if I would bye today. I said yes. She got the okay to take another $500 off.

When I bought my Limited last Tuesday, Costco and my dealership still hadn't come to an agreement on any of the 2020 Outbacks. It even said so on the Costco website after I submitted my build. The Capitol Subaru in San Jose salesman knocked a $1000 off MSRP for me but that was it. They were flying off the lot at sticker. I got my Limited with Sat Nav, and the Popular package I believe for $36,338 plus tax etc.

In comparison Steven's Creek Subaru was selling the same car without the Popular package for the same price, $37,621 or so.
