Decided to go a different route with my '24 OBW Build

Used all factory OEM Subaru parts!

Rear UCA from '24 Legacy Sport
Rear SBM from '24 Legacy Sport
Rear subframe plates from '24 Legacy Sport
'24 WRX Suspension and other witchcraft

Significant improvement on handling and very happy with the build so far. Future mods in the works.

Ok, so I'll be the one to confess that I dislike the way it looks right now. That said, keep going, because I could see it turning out very interesting, and I can appreciate the madness in your approach.

I love this.

You took the Wilderness with it’s low gearing and turbo engine that’s made for regular gas and lowered it to sport sedan height.

This isn’t some rigged up monstrosity with wheel spaced fat rims or a cherry vaping contraption tuned for farts, pops and early detonation death.

This is art at OEM quality.

I couldn’t do the WRX because I couldn’t get the sports car feel with the huge family touch screen and distracting hvac controls.

I went with the BRZ tS and I love it.

But you have created a wagon I love.

Thank you. I am inspired and impressed. You have applied an elegant solution. I am a mechanical engineer and It takes a lot to get me to say things like that.

I went against the grain as well. Instead of All Terrain tires, I went with Michelin Defender 2's after my tires had nails in them. Discount Tire didn't have any AT's in stock so I went with the Michelins. Handling and mpgs are so much better

I'm curious about the WRX suspension bolting in. Were there any issues or modifying needed or did they just bolt right up?
When it came to the physical suspension, they bolt right up. But due to their length difference, the rear UCA will hit the subframe hence the install of the Legacy UCA which have a dip built into them to eliminate this issue.

I also removed the Wilderness spacers above the subframe and replaced them with the Legacy subframe plate. Doing this forced me to have to change the sway bar mount to a Legacy as well. Stock Outback sway bar mounted right up to it, no issues.

That's awesome. I really appreciate the extra info and photo (y)

that's great. I've seen photos of lowered outbacks and they never look this good. possibly it is the cladding and crossbar changes which are more visually appropriate for a lower car.

i would love my car to be, i dunno, 1 inch lower. but it is what it is and it is probably my favorite practical car ever ...
