Interesting. Kind of curious at to what exactly the fix will be and what is included in the kit. I'm glad that Subaru accepted the fact that there was a problem and came out with a fix for it. I've known a few other manufactures that would say that it was within tolorences. Oh well hopefully the first one to get the repair done will let us know what they did. Also is this fix going to apply to all '15 OB's or just those with varifiable wind noise.

 

Is there a TSB we can reference when approaching our dealers about this? That would be very helpful (especially if you knew my dealer).

 

I don't have any additional info at the moment - I'll update if I get anything more.

I have called my dealership and they said they have to call SOA and get the details...

What "wind noise"? Our 2012 does not seem to have any unprecedented sounds.

 

The 2012 is a previous generation and doesn't have the triangular wing windows. duh!

 

can we get this fixed at a dealership other than the one we bought it from? I bought mine a couple hundred miles away, but I have the wind noise issue..

 

Warranty work can be done at any dealer. Doesn't matter where you bought it.

 

Did we need a sixth (that I know of) thread on wind noise started?

Contacted SOA they verified that there is a fix but have a limited amount of kits but will ship out more by the end of the month

 

So the wind noise issue many of us are having - is finally being repaired - per Subaru Cust Srvc:

"Hi Mike,

Thanks for checking in. I've been out of the office all week, so your timing was great. Apparently a fix was just released and a limited quantity of repair kits are just starting to hit dealers. There will be an ample amount of repair kits available later this month. We were notified about this when I was out. I recommend calling the service dept at the dealer so they are aware that you are in need of the fix, just in case the sales department didn't let them know. Hopefully you will get the first wave of repair kits so you don't have to wait. Let me know how it goes. If you need any help I am happy to get involved."

We have 2019 outback Roof rails are stored Drove to our daughter when dry and noise Drove home in rain whistling wind noise from moonroof area going 40 mph or more I thought on driver side (I was passenger) and Mt driver husband thought it was on my side Interestingly when we went through a tunnel and no rain it stopped but as soon as exit the tunnel into the rain it started again Will be interesting to see if our NJ deLer aware of the issue and fix and fesses up to it
