Still discovering new stuff 6 months after getting my 13 2.5. Do y'all use the "SRS" sound on the stereo or not? I found the SRS sound and it seem a little better.

I haven't noticed such a setting my on 2013 with HK either. What does SRS do?

Frankly, I haven't explored it at all. I hit the 'on' button and that is about it.

p.s. Vandy grad here.:moon::D

I thought they had done away with SRS in 2009.

My '08 has the SRS-Wow system with a factory sub and it blows away the HK system in the '09 Outback. Haven't listened to the Gen 4 systems at all.

I use it - sounds better with it on. It's Subaru's attempt at creating a better, more "ear level" sound stage.

From the original press release back in 2007/8:

"Designed specifically for the unique challenges presented by automobile interiors, CS Auto includes processing to elevate the sound image to ear level, even from speakers located in some car-doors and under the dashboard. Additionally, it creates a "phantom center speaker" to effectively pull out and clarify vocals in the audio track. CS Auto also includes a channel-mixing feature that enables passengers in the front and rear seats to clearly hear all vocals and be immersed in the audio experience. Finally, CS Auto incorporates SRS Labs' patented bass enhancement system to create a virtual subwoofer to complete the surround experience."
