Is their an online chart of hours of labor for various repair jobs ?

Failing that, what would be reasonable for: replacing a rear wheel bearing ? For replacing an front inner half-axle boot (the boot, not just R&R'ing the whole half-axle) ?

This is seen when I edit my profile, but doesn't seem to be visible here: I'm talking about an Outback 2.5i (naturally-aspirated) 5MT.

The problem with any attempt at such a chart is that it can't take into account the effort involved in dealing with rusty stuck bolts and other components. With these cars being between 11 and 15 years old, that's the major factor in the time required.

Yeah-Kind of. I mean, 25% lower can be had on both if you search. But, it's not unreasonable. For a shop. 4 Hours on the rear seems high. 2 or 3 sounds more like it.

I had a mechanic replace both rear bearing/hub assemblies for $ 325 in labor (I brought the parts into the shop). He asked me to time the job once the vehicle was on the lift with the wheels off. Took him 38 minutes to replace both assemblies and he even answered a phone call while he was doing the job. I guess it takes longer if there are seized bolts but 4 hours for a single assembly does sound excessive, unless the rate is $ 40/hour.
