serpentine belt-burning rubber smell

Hello, I have just discovered this web site so I am new. I have an '01 Outback with the H6. When the odo turned 105,000 I decided to change the serpentine belt. Shortly after I noticed a burning rubber smell whenever we stopped and got out of the car so I decided to change the tensioner as well. I'm still noticing the smell. It has been about a 1,000 miles since I originally changed the belt. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Thank you for the reply's. I removed the belt twice and re-installed it making sure all of the grooves were lined up. The only place I think I'm detecting wear is on the back side (non-grooved side). It feels kind of grity which leads me to believe that I need to change the stationary pulley as well. It does look a bit scored. The only other thing I can think of is that I re-installed the belt wrong, but I just can't see how else it would go on. Does anyone know where I can find the belt diagram? Could anyone recommend a good parts supply on line?

thanks

Curt
