Subaru Tuning that affects CVT Operations & Performance by Xtreme Racing Tuning (XRT)
XRT have continue to master the operations and performance of the CVT through tuning and customer feedback and based on the results, were are offering that edge in tuning CVT models like what we did to the 5EAT and the 4EAT.

Generally, the following are expected when tuned (The Transmission Computer is not tuned):

  • Quicker shifting
  • Firmer shifting
  • Appropriate gear selection for less labouring or load on the engine
  • Less ping/knocking due to the transmission wanting to be in high gear all the time.
  • Less pedal moving to make the transmission shifting
  • Better fuel mileage
  • Easy over-taking and maneuvering due to quicker acceleration due to the above points.

XRT Offers additional stages for CVT tuning.

  • Stage 1 allows the transmission to shift and operate more efficiently
  • Stage 2 offers greater shifting and operations. This is the mode many requires if you want to have full control when the transmission shift for hill climbing, racing, over-taking etc.
  • Stage 3 offers increase response and less throttle lag. Direct throttle control. Now you maybe able to spin those tires on moving off or get that maximum torque to the ground.

Sorry to hear about what happened at legacyGT. It's their loss because you're a very honest stand up guy.

That's true, but when I first started looking at tuning, there was a site called edgetuning.com
That site is no long up and seems to had been Asian. It was precise and very very factual with little content. That means it was precise.

That being said, I modelled that site in my terminology of XRT. That is, a library to the world.

I see why many old top Tuners don't post any more on such sites. The moderators are a disgrace to development and truth. That's how the world is now. Sad.

Well anyone wanting to see fact, can always review XRT. I try to maintain accurate data as much as possible. That's my field.

Hello everyone:

A new update been release which allow full torque to the ground that just pushes you back in the seat. Development came through the 5EAT from my 3.6 5EAT group and the Spec B 3.6 6MT.

Please standby for a video from my customer. Below are his comments on XRT ran Facebook group.

I must say, even before Ed hooked me up with Stage 2 tuning, I didn't think it could of gotten better. Now with the surge of power during downshifts, and the quick firm shifting of this CVT I am starting to really enjoy this Outback. Remember I almost got a '17 WRX, but had to get the 3.6R Outback for family reasons. This wagon has come to life like Frankenstein with the CVT and ECU tuning from Ed. The only difficult thing is now I want to add more mods to unleash more power with the customized tuning Ed provides. Next in store in a catback exhaust for my Outback. I am planning on making a video of my tuning results in the next couple of days. Stay TUNED!

just read through the entire thread...beats the webinars I'm watching/listening to on my other screen at work! ;-)

I see that most of the customers are in the 3.6L outbacks...curious if anyone with a 2.5L can comment more (I have a '13 2.5 w/ CVT) as I am at that "fork in the road" of trying to figure out if I keep my car and look for performance upgrades or ditch it altogether for a car with more available performance upgrades.

a bit south of you - Colo Spgs / Monument area. very intrigued with what you guys are doing with these outbacks! this morning, I was at a loss re: feeling as if there were no options but am starting to have a bit more hope that something ....could be done for some performance (as you say, driveability)
