If you reset the system after the update, everything will be butter smooth after it restores. Unfortunately, a system reset erases every personal settings including GPS coordinates, radio and phone settings. The reset is a great option if you ever plan to sell your car.

Can someone point me to the latest firmware for a 2022 Legacy please? Official documents are a mess of moving between computer and car to get and enter info and I just want the files.
literally 3 posts prior to yours. If that's not the absolute latest it's still a darn good update that's stable and solved many issues itself.

@Siallus

Wow! Two posts and already on the sh*t list. That may be a new record. It took me at least five if I recall.

Perhaps a Legacy forum would be more helpful. Say what ya want about those girls but some of them are pretty good mechanics.

I had just spent an hour looking at a mess of information and wanted a straight answer. When someone is more knowledgeable on a topic, they tend to take that for granted and assume a baseline for everyone else.
Fair enough. But your frustration doesn't justify your response.

First and foremost this is an Outback forum. I don't know if the software updates apply to the Legacy and I don't care. What I do know with absolute certainty is that there are cats on here who can answer your question. Whether or not they choose to do so depends on you.

Nobody wants to get into a conversation with someone who is belligerent.

Maybe if you spend more time raising your baseline (or admitting that your baseline is low) you will get a solution.

Keep in mind that none of us feels any urgency to solve your problem. Less now than before your second post, I suspect.

I made my attempt and got a usable answer. Telling the guy he was sparky about it is hardly belligerent, but it is what it is. I don't need to be here anymore.
It seems to me that thank you would have been the proper response. Good riddance.

I'm not entirely sure that an Outback update won't brick the system in your Legacy, but by all means have a go at it.

What's the worst that can happen?

Your second response was unwarranted and it appears has been reported and now deleted. Having an attitude especially when asking for help is not a recipe for success either here or in the world around you. Best of luck to you elsewhere.

@Siallus the TSB covering updates (copies of which can be found around this thread and in other places in the forum) does not make a distinction between versions for Legacy and Outback, only between the levels of the infotainment - base, mid, high.

There is no need to do older updates before doing a newer update - every update is complete, so just do the newest one and it will have all the features of the older ones.
